Mountaineering Skills, Multi-Day Alpine Climbing Trips, Alpine Traverses & Ski Mountaineering Courses
The Wasatch Mountains offer a wide variety of excellent alpine climbing, making Utah a tremendous training ground to develop the mountaineering skills to summit the highest Utah peaks and iconic alpine ascents worldwide. UMA’s mountain guides are among the best mountaineers and guides in the world, and collectively have helped countless climbers prepare for Mt. Rainier, Denali, the Matterhorn and Everest.
UMA teaches single-day courses to practice skills, leads beginner to intermediate scheduled climbs, and holds mountaineering camps for students to climb, learn and progress over 2-4 days. We also lead overnight expedition training trips, including the ascent of Kings Peak, the highest summit in Utah. If our scheduled courses, climbs and trips don’t meet your needs or time frame, UMA is happy to create custom training programs with private guides.
