Experience Utah’s Best Ice Climbing
Ice climbing is a challenging and exhilarating winter sport that involves ascending ice formations, such frozen waterfalls and seeps, using ice tools and crampons. It requires a combination of strength, technique and mental fortitude. Though ice climbing is similar to rock climbing, you don’t need previous rock climbing experience — we teach all the necessary skills to start on your ice climbing journey in Ice Climbing 1. Our introductory courses are mostly taught on the iconic Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon.
For more advanced ice climbers, check out Ice Climbing 2 to practice on steeper ice and Learn to Lead Ice to master the skills of placing ice screws and being on the sharp end of the rope. For a multi-day experience, UMA’s 2-day Ice Climbing Camp covers the skills taught Ice 1, Ice 2 and more.
The Wasatch ice season is mid-December to the end of February. If ice climbing is on your bucket list, sign up early because our season is short!
