Will Ambler grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina where he learned to ski. In his youth he was an avid freestyle skier. He moved to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah where he received a bachelors degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism and fell in love with powder skiing. Will worked for nearly a decade as a ski instructor at Appalachian Ski Mountain and Snowbird. Using this experience and his enthusiasm for mountain recreation, he now works as a ski guide and avalanche educator. Will also contributes to the University of Utah’s U-Explore program, teaching a variety of outdoor recreation courses. He spends his summers in Washington working as a mountain guide, mostly on Mt Rainier. When he isn’t working Will enjoys ski touring, rock climbing, reading, mountain biking and banjo picking.
