Kiira is a mountain guide, splitboarder, and avalanche educator based in the Wasatch Mountains. She grew up in Colorado snowboarding, climbing, and kayaking with her family, which shaped her love for moving through the mountains from an early age. After high school she took a gap year with NOLS in Patagonia, Chile, where extended time in remote places solidified her interest in outdoor leadership and education. During that time, she also earned her EMT certification through Denver Health’s Paramedic School. Kiira later attended the University of Puget Sound, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Geology.

Now guiding throughout Utah, Washington, and Alaska, Kiira enjoys working with people who want to build skills and confidence in the backcountry. In winter, her focus is splitboarding and avalanche education, helping clients learn to travel safely and thoughtfully in complex terrain. When the snow melts, she shifts to big mountain guiding in Alaska and Washington, along with whitewater kayaking, trail running, and climbing.

How to make Kiira’s day: show up at the trailhead with coffee or a lil treat (no allergies!) and commit to wearing glitter when the moment calls for it.
