Chris is a lifelong skier and devoted climber. He grew up on the East Coast and moved to Utah in 2004 to pursue his BS in Urban Design at the University of Utah. That’s when he fell in love with backcountry skiing and climbing. After moving away for a number of years, he found himself back in Utah. In the winter, Chris works as a ski guide (human-powered, cat, heli), an ice guide, an operational avalanche forecaster, and a recreational and professional avalanche educator. In the summer, he works as a rock and alpine guide and an anchor technician for the Salt Lake Climbers Alliance rebolting climbing routes. Chris works and guides in a variety of regions.
Chris strives to enable people to find value in natural environments and challenge themselves. He is inherently curious about unique and unusual places and hopes to share that curiosity with others. When not in the mountains, Chris loves spending time with his wife, traveling, reading, and exploring the lesser-known.
