Alan has been an IFMGA certified guide since 2016.  He has been on over 30 expeditions since he started guiding in 2008.  Helping people progress their mountain skill set has kept Alan deeply engaged in guiding.  In addition to his work in Utah he has guided big technical objectives around the world, and instructs training/certifying guides for the American Mountain Guide Association.  Alan also spends a lot of time pursuing personal climbing goals in the Himalayas and Alaska Range.  He has twice been awarded the ‘Piolet D’or’ which annually recognizes ‘outstanding achievement in the world of alpinism’.  Once in 2020 for a new route on Tengi Ragi Tau in Nepal and again in 2024 for the first Alpine style ascent of Jannu’s North face.  In Alaska he has established some very challenging routes and has repeated a couple of the AK range’s and most committing objectives in continuous pushes.
Whatever your climbing or skiing goals are, Alan is happy to work with you and help accelerate your learning in the mountains.
