What Our Guests and Students Say
The Mt. Olympus West Slabs climb starts with a steep hike up a rocky couloir, then a climb up the face to enjoy the commanding view. Fun, 5.5-level climbing allows for efficient movement up 10 pitches on the 65-degree, 1800′ face. The descent is down a couloir combining a mix of down climbing and short rappels, followed by a steep scramble down the lower couloir.

Please see our main FAQ page for general questions or for anything not covered below.
How old do I need to be to climb?
Students must be at least 14 years of age to join a group course. For custom guiding and instruction, there is no restriction.
Should I wear pants or shorts?
Shorts are nicer for warm days, but long pants will protect your legs from abrasive rock. If shorts are preferred, they should be long enough to go under the leg loops of the harness.
I don’t own sticky rubber approach shoes; what is a good substitute?
Hiking boots and rock climbing shoes are a good substitute.
Where do I meet my guide?
The guide will arrange a specific meeting location and time with you. Most often, you will meet at the Einstein Bros. Bagels in Olympus Cove.
